Pipiwai Trail Stretched Canvas Prints
Pipiwai Trail is a treasure of the National Park System that passes through diverse scenery and culminates at the base of an absolutely spectacular waterfall. The Pipiwai Trail offers, hands-down, the all-around best of East Maui’s most dramatic stream and waterfall hikes. The Pipiwai Trail is one of the finest hikes in Hawaii. The Pipiwai Trail is located in southeast Maui. It is within Haleakala National Park in the area called Kipahulu. The Pipiwai Trail is a 4-mile hike that takes about 2 hours to complete. If you want to linger in the forest, you could spend up to 4 hours on this trail exploring the terrain and not be bored. The Pipiwai Trail is located towards the end of the “Road to Hana” on Maui. There is no swimming hole at the bottom of Waimoku Falls. A favorite Maui hike, yet for some people the drive to the trailhead alone is excitement enough. This idyllic 1.8 mile trail unfolds alongside a string of pools and waterfalls of the lush tropical rainforest. The dramatic diversity then suddenly morphs into the zen-oneness of an immense bamboo forest. The bamboo will become thicker, and the ambiance and hollow percussive sounds of bamboo striking one another, will begin to transport you to an Asian nether-world. There are several great waterfalls along the route with the final destination fall being Waimoku Falls, falling 400-feet down a sheer lava rock wall shaped like a horse shoe. If it has been wet in the area recently, you can additionally find yourself surrounded by numerous small waterfalls on the surrounding cliff face. This is an absolutely beautiful falls and well worth the hike to get to it.
