Coronado Bridge Canvas Wall Prints
The San Diego Coronado Bridge, locally referred to as the Coronado Bridge, is a "prestressed concrete steel" girder bridge, crossing over San Diego Bay in the United States, linking San Diego with Coronado, California. Coronado Central Beach runs along Ocean Boulevard with a back drop of fine homes and mansions. Beach accessible wheelchairs are available to the public, free of charge, at the Central Beach Lifeguard Tower. The bridge contains five lanes: two eastbound, two westbound, and a reversible middle lane with a moveable barrier system. North Beach is the only dog friendly beach in the area and frequented by locals and their canine companions. Silver Strand State Beach is located 4.5 miles south of Coronado Village along the Silver Strand. An underpass allows access to bayside beach and picnic area and Loews Coronado Bay Resort. From the 5 freeway just south of downtown San Diego, take the Coronado Bridge over the bay to Coronado Island. The main two-mile beach has four sections. At the foot of the Coronado Shores condominium towers is South Beach where the hull of the sunken gambling ship, the Monte Carlo, can be seen at low tide. The section starting at the Hotel Coronado past the life guard tower is Central Beach overlooked by the stately homes along Ocean Boulevard. North Beach attracts surfers in the morning, and fire rings are available for bonfires at night. The pillars supporting the bridge on the eastern end are painted with huge murals as part of Chicano Park, the largest collection of Chicano art murals in the world.
